Codename: Chaos

Is Donald Trump an agent of the Russian Federation or is he what Lenin called "a useful idiot?" He is certainly the latter, as to the former I have no idea. It is crystal clear that his deferential attitude toward Vladimir Putin is wholly uncharacteristic of an American President. Trump isn't simply acting in a diplomatic manner in order to build bridges, he completely and without reservation slathers Putin with praise and takes his side over all American officials charged with protecting the country.

Trump has continually denied that Putin interfered in our 2016 Presidential election, in spite of the conclusion of all 17 of our Intelligence Services stating unequivocally Russia did interfere and nothing happens in Russia without Putin's approval.

Last weekend after a New York Times story ran about the F.B.I. opening a counterintelligence investigation in 2017 to examine whether or not the President was an agent of Russia, it took Trump two days to actually say he's never worked for Russia. That investigation became the impetus for the appointment of Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

Hopefully, we the people, will actually get to read Mueller's report in full but we might not. His report will be submitted to the Attorney General who will in all likelihood be William Barr. A.G. Barr will then decide what we get to see, he may even rewrite it or not release it at all.

Here's what we know and have known before Trump ever became President almost all of Trump's project financing came from Russia. That information came directly out of the mouth of Trump's son. American banks got sick of Donald Trump a long time ago so he turned to dubious sources, like Russian Banks owned by oligarchs who answer to Vladimir Putin. Trump Tower Moscow is a dream the President has been pursuing for a very long time. Left to his own decision all sanctions against Russia and it's individual oligarchs who have been targeted would be lifted. He has not been successful but is once again making overtures with the oligarchs. Ironically a lot of former Republican hawks on Russia are willing to roll over and play dead. I can still remember way back in the olden days when newly installed Secretary of State Hillary Clinton presented the red reset button to then Russian Federation President Dimitry Medvedev and Republicans nearly had a stroke from their outrage. Now a President of their own party has the spectre of Russian collusion hanging over him and they're like, meh. Weird.

We still haven't seen Trump's taxes, though I bet Mueller has. My theory and I'm not alone, is simple, he's not a billionaire and they reveal his extensive dealings with and debt to Russian Banks. That debt is his Achilles heel and what makes him susceptible to influence and even blackmail by Putin.

As President, Trump has met five times with Putin, all one on one with only a translator and afterwards he confiscated the interpreters notes and forbade them to speak with anyone. What did he and Putin talk about? Putin and Russian intelligence knows. Even more information to use against Trump.

Politics is a bloodsport. It can be brutal and hard hitting but to actually be living in a time when the serious question of is an American President an agent of a foreign power is surreal.

But here we are.
